October 03, 2016

A fireball event was reported to us on 1st October 2016. This meteor occured at Ain melila, Algeria at 10:23 pm 2123 UTC. It was described as "crashing and detonating".

From the pictures we have seen plus the cctv and video video clips, it looks like this was a very bright fireball event and similar to the event seen previously off the coast of Queensland. There are rhumors of an impact shock, but it is more likely to be a sonic boom or explosion in the atmosphere.

There is not much data on this one. If you experienced it, please feel free to let us know about your experience. in particular, did you hear / feel any kind of impact shock?

I would like to thank Imad Halit for the wonderful pictures Imad was able to take of this event and for the details of the exact location. I have reporduced one of the pictuires here with kind permission.

*** UPDATE - I removed the image as it was NOT OF THIS EVENT. ***
*** PLEASE DON'T SEND US FAKE IMAGES - IT SERVES NO ONE -Thank you,***

Please contact us if you have fireball event to report.
